CARNIVAL CRUISE HERE WE COME....

Mark and I have gone on a couple of cruises and decided it was time to see what it would be like taking our kids. They were sooo excited and could not wait for the all-you-can-eat ice cream and the buffets. Brock was hoping the boat was big enough that sharks could not get us. Zachary and Garrett could not wait to go down the big slide. Mark, Taylor and I could not wait to relax .....

THE SAN DIEGO ZOO

We met up with our friends the Sowards and along with the Oelrich's headed to the San Diego Zoo. The double decker bus tour was very informative and we were able to see a lot. It was really cold and our kids were tired of walking. Mark ended up pushing the boys in the stroller most of the time. We saw a lot of animals, but could not wait to get back to the hotel and drink some hot chocolate.

We had a great time at Disneyland and California Adventure. Taylor, Garrett, Zachary and Brock got Mickey & Minnie Mouse Ears. Megan Warner came with the Oelrich's to help with their kids. It was fun to have her with us on the trip, but it was time to say good-bye and move onto our next adventure.

More Fun times at Disneyland and California Adventure. Brock went on all of the rides at California adventure. He was a great sport, especially since he did not want to go on any of them. They were too scary.....

DISNEYLAND

The next destination was Disneyland!! We were one of the first in line. We met up with our cousins (The Oelrich's) and had a great day. We were able to go on a lot of the rides and even had lunch with the Isom's.

Taylor and Justin babysat while Craig, Laura, Mark & I went on a date Saturday night. We thought it was pretty funny that they were sitting on the couch and texting each other instead of talking face to face.

EASTER MORNING

We flew into San Diego and went to our good friends' the PORTERS. We spent Easter at their house. We had a great time!! Craig and Laura planned a wonderful dinner and a fantastic Easter Egg Hunt for the kids. It was sooo nice seeing them again. Mark grew up with Craig and we have really enjoyed their friendship over the years. We could not have asked for a more perfect EASTER and start to our family vacation.

SPRING BREAK VACATION!!!

Our family was really excited for Spring Break this year!!! We had planned for a long time to go to Disneyland and a short Cruise. So we packed up and headed to the San Jose airport......

Brock's Easter Egg Hunt

Brock was soooo excited for the Easter Egg Hunt that his Kindergarten Class had. He made cute Easter Bunny Ears and they all went outside for the BIG HUNT!!

OUR GARDEN

Our garden is finally planted! Yeah!! There was a little bit of moaning and groaning, but in the end we are happy to finally have it done. Mark built planter boxes and the kids helped pick the plants. The whole family was involved and as soon as we figured out how to keep the dog out, we were good to go. We planted the garden, in April and are now enjoying peas, lettuce, a few tomatoes and peppers.

The last weekend in March, 2009 was a very busy one for our family. We finally moved our gym in Gilroy out of Wheeler Auditorium into our new facility. It was a HUGE undertaking since we had to move everything out starting late Thursday night (8:00 pm) and have everything set back up and ready to go Monday Morning by 9:00 am.

I was amazed at how much help we had from parents, coaches, and the cheer group that will be running their program in our new gym. It was one of the most physically challenging jobs Mark and I have ever done. I am soooo glad it is finally finished. Our kids were real troopers. Of course, they were sick all weekend. That is usually how it is, when it rains it pours. Isen't that what life is about? Learning how to balance and cope? I am beginning to think so.

MY DAD

My dad has always had a special place in my heart. He taught me how to have compassion for others and to work hard. We always try to go down the field when we are in Beaver and see what improvements have been made. My dad has a very close relationship with his brothers, especially Floyd and Dale. They have taught us that family comes first and you help each other out no matter what. I have learned over the years that trust and dependability are important attributes that my dad and his brothers have passed on to their posterity. I hope that I can do the same.

Taylor is quickly growing up!!! She enjoys gymnastics, volleyball, family vacations, friends, and just recentlydecided she likes dancing. I am always amazed by her positive attitude and her willingness to help out at home and the gym. She is a great teacher, example and friend.

Zachary is always energetic and full of life!!! He likes soccer, hip hop, singing, and PLAYING WITH FRIENDS! He is known in our family for giving and needing hugs. In school, he is always trying to be the one who reads the most books and be a great friend.

Brock, on the other hand, loves to pose for photos!!! Here are a few of many shots that were taken of him. He has such a great imagination and loves playing super heroes with anyone that will play along. His second favorite thing to do is TEASE people and say, "I joked you!"

Garrett does not like to get his picture taken very often. It is fun to try and capture him. He is really growing up fast and turning out to be very dependable and a great help. He loves to snowboard & play in the snow.

We had a great time with our family and friends at the cabin. We bought this cabin in October 2008 with our friends Rob & Christy Eggers. So far, it has been a wonderful retreat for our family and something we all look forward to going to and sharing with friends and family. Over President's Day Weekend, we played in the snow with the Oelrich's, the Eggers, & the Meyers. Our kids had a blast playing in the snow. As Zachary would say, "good times, good times."

It is about time the Lawrence Family starts a blog. 2009 has been an exciting year and we are excited to start documenting it!!! Since it is almost impossible for us to get a family picture, the kids will have to do for now. LET THE BLOGGING BEGIN!!!!
